“Once in a while I’ve written the name of a street in Argentina or some book or some actor that most people might not know, and people will say, ‘Isn’t that kind of exclusionary?’ And for me, it’s like I’m sure there are other people out there who are like me who will hear ‘tried so hard to look like Martin Donovan’ and they’ll wonder who Martin Donovan is and they’ll look for it. Today is Martin Donovan’s 52 birthday. In honor of his birthday, leave a comment about your favorite MD movie. My fave movie is A Portrait of a Lady (which is what encouraged me to start this website over 10 years ago in the first place). It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, so I’m off to add it to my Netflix queue.

One idea for the part of the federal prosecutor in this case is Richard “John Boy” Thomas. He does look a little more like Fitzgerald, but Martin Donovan (Saved!) got the Irish-American thing going for him, and it would be more interesting to see if he can do the Brooklyn accent. Plus, Donovan often works with Mary-Louise Parker, who would be perfect for the part of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan if she were an included character in the film.
The Second Annual Adrienne Shelley Foundation Gala
Over the weekend we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Andy Ostroy, the husband of actress, writer and film maker Adrienne Shelley. Adrienne’s life was tragically cut short right before she was able to witness her biggest success, her film “The Waitress” starring Kerri Russell. Andy founded the Adrienne Shelly Foundation and is dedicated to the memory of Adrienne Shelley while helping other young women pursue their film making dreams.
Last year the foundation held its first Annual Adrienne Shelly Foundation Fundraising Gala. This year their second annual gale will be held November 17th at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, New York University.
Cheryl Hines, Marcia Gay Harden, Keri Russell, Ally Sheedy, Lili Taylor, Nia Vardalos, Kristen Bell, Ken Burns, Karen Black, Paul Rudd, Timothy Hutton, Jeremy Sisto, Martin Donovan are all scheduled to participate in the evening as well as other yet-to-be-named celebrities. In addition, singer Dana Parish will be performing songs off her new album “Uncrushed”. The event is directed by Pippin Parker.
Someone posted on Wikipedia that Martin has been doing voice overs for Mercedes. I received confirmation that this information is incorrect and he is NOT doing voice overs for them.
